Privacy Policy

Last updated October 18, 2026

Gredi is built to keep your health information on your phone. This explains what is and isn't shared.

What stays on your phone

Your rules (allergies, conditions, diets and avoid list), your scan history and your pantry are saved only on your device. We have no accounts and cannot see this information. Erasing your data in the app, or deleting the app, removes it.

Barcode lookups

When you scan a barcode, the barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts, a public product database, to fetch the product's name and ingredients. Your rules are not sent with it. To suggest alternatives, our server fetches product lists for a food category from Open Food Facts and keeps a cached copy; your rules and scan history are not sent. Your device's IP address is visible to them, as with any web request.

Label and menu photos

If you use Label or Menu mode, the photo you take is sent over an encrypted connection to our server and passed to an AI service (Anthropic) that reads the text in it. We do not save the photo or the text. The AI only reads text. The verdict is calculated on your phone using fixed rules, and your rules are not sent with the photo.

Other information

Your phone creates a random identifier that is sent with photo requests so we can limit daily use and prevent abuse. It is not linked to your name or identity. We do not use advertising or analytics tools in the app.

Optional Smart check

Smart check is an optional second opinion. When it is on, the ingredient list of the product you scanned and the names of your rules (for example, "milk" or "celiac") are sent over an encrypted connection to our server and passed to an AI service (Anthropic), which explains what the ingredients mean for you. Nothing is saved, and no name, account or photo of you is sent. Smart check can only add warnings or explain them; it never removes or softens a warning from the fixed rules. You can turn it off in Rules at any time.

Custom rules

When you type your own rule (for example "nightshades"), that word is sent over an encrypted connection to our server and passed to an AI service (Anthropic) to look up the other names it goes by on labels. Nothing identifies you and nothing is saved. Your rule is always matched exactly as you typed it, and you can remove any extra name Gredi adds.

Optional food and symptom log and numbers tracker

If you turn on the optional log, the meals, symptoms, check-ins and daily nutrition totals you record stay on your phone. The optional evening reminder is a notification scheduled on your phone and sends nothing. They are never sent to us or to anyone else, and are not used for analytics. If you export a PDF or CSV, it is created on your phone and only shared where you choose. Turning the log off or erasing your data removes it.

Purchases

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. We do not see your payment details.

What we do not do

We do not sell your information, show ads, or track you across other companies' apps and websites.

Children

Gredi is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Service providers

Our server runs on Supabase. AI text reading is provided by Anthropic. Product data, including nutrition facts, comes from Open Food Facts under the Open Database License and from USDA FoodData Central.

Your choices

You can erase everything stored in the app at any time from the Me tab. Questions: support@proclame.ai.

If this policy changes we will update the date above.
